Adamson extends streak to 73 in UAAP softball

The streak continues for Adamson in UAAP softball, as they defeated La Salle, 4-2 on Monday at Rizal Memorial.

The Soaring Lady Falcons rode on Annalie Benjamen's pitching against the softbelles from Taft, as the defending champions struggled with their hitting.

Coach Ana Santiago acknowledged that, "We need to work hard to get every win. Mahaba pa ang tournament. What Benjamen needs is offense from her teammates."

The victory puts their streak at 73 games, the longest among all sports in the league. At 11-0 this season, a win against UST on Wednesday will secure them an automatic finals berth with the thrice-to-beat advantage.

The Tiger Softbelles defeated UP, 6-1, to keep their hopes of a twice-to-beat advantage alive. At 7-4, they will need to end the Adamson streak to force a playoff against NU, which ended their eliminations campaign with a mercy-rule invokved 12-2 win over UE.

Even with the losses, La Salle and UP still remain tied for fourth at 4-7. Potential playoff might take place if they defeat their respective opposition (Ateneo and UE).
