A new schedule has been released by the ASEAN Football Federation for the upcoming 2024 edition of the ASEAN Mitshubishi Electric Cup.
The revision, according to the AFF, is based from recommendations made by several of its Member Associations, which at the end of the day would ensure optimum strength and performance of its national teams during the competition.
The qualification round, which is a two-legged competition between Timor Leste and Brunei Darussalam, remains as scheduled for October 8 and 15. The winner of this match will join Group A alongside Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia.
Group Stage matches will commence on December 8 and last until December 21.
For the Philippines, their matches are as follows:
December 12 vs Myanmar
December 15 vs Laos
December 18 vs Vietnam
December 21 vs Indonesia
Top two teams will advance into the two-legged semifinals, with one matchup having its games on December 26 and 29. while the other slated to play on December 27 and 30.
Winners will then face off in the final, which is also a two-legged fixture. The first leg takes place on January 2, with the second leg on January 5.
No confirmed kickoff times and venues were provided by the AFF, but Senior National Teams manager for the Philippine Football Federation Freddy Gonzalez says that they intend to have the PMNFT play its games at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium with a new turf.
