29 make the cut at the Jr. NBA Philippines Manila Regional Selection Camp

The Don Bosco Technical Institute once again hosted the Jr. NBA Philippines Manila RSC
The final Regional Selection Camp for the Jr. NBA Philippines 2019 presented by Alaska took place this past weekend at the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati, with 591 participants vying for the opportunity to showcase their know-how in the sport of basketball.

The first day was to determine the participants' fundamental skills and if they exhibit the hallmark core values of the program: Sportsmanship, Teamwork, a positive Attitude, and Respect. Those who make the cut get to prove themselves again on the second day, where the finalists are to be selected by the coaches, led by Jr. NBA Coaches Rob Newson, Jeffrey Cariaso, Tony dela Cruz, and Willie Miller.

After all of that, there were nine boys and twenty girls that made the cut for the National Training Camp, joining those from the Luzon (Benguet and Lucena), Visayas (Dumaguete), and Mindanao (Butuan) Regional Selection Camps, and the Alaska Power Camp.

The nine boys are: James Ison of La Salle-Greenhills, Joshua Minguillo and Marc Kerby Samson of Panorama Montessori School of Binan, Daniel Padilla, Sebastian Roy Reyes, Syrex Jun Silorio, and Elijah Ray Yusi of Nazareth School of National University, Hikaru Policarpio of Bacood Elementary School, and Lanze Ronquillo of San Beda.
