Twitter and ONE Championship revealed a partnership that would showcase certain portions of the ONE: Kings of Courage MMA event on the social media platform.
All three preliminary matches will be shown through the @ONEChampionship handle on Twitter live, as well as two matches on the main card (Victorio Senduk vs Yohan Mulia Legowo and Yusup Saadulaev vs Masakazu Imanari).
According to ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, "I am thrilled to announce ONE Championship’s partnership with social media platform, Twitter. This will allow us to further showcase the beauty of martial arts to a global audience. This partnership signifies the two companies’ commitment to developing martial arts in Asia and extend the reach of our exciting live and digital content. Martial arts fans, particularly those on the Twitter platform, will be able to enjoy free ONE Championship bouts while engaging in real-time conversation."
Twitter's Head of Sports Partnerships for Southeast Asia Maurizio Barbieri adds, "ONE Championship is a true sports media powerhouse. We are excited to team up with them to increase their reach to millions of fans around Asia and the rest of the world. More than ever before, if you can’t make it ringside, Twitter will be the best place to follow the action live, right when it is happening."
ONE Championship takes pride with its reach, whether through traditional means or via social media. From 352 million in 2014, its social media impressions has reached fourteen billion with its annualized run rate. It is set to breach 2.6 billion video views on social media, compared to just 312 thousand three years earlier. As for television ratings, Peak TV is rising at 11-36 percent, marking up to 36x growth. That also includes an increase in annual TV broadcast per core country, reaching to 100-2800 hours, which reflects a spike of at least 230x.
The ONE Championship and Twitter partnership will encompass all 24 ONE Championship events on tap in 2018.
