The Los Angeles Lakers officially revealed that they have signed a two-year extension with the Black Mamba that could possibly allow him to become a "Laker for life." Even Kobe himself acknowledged that:

Terms of the deal were not disclosed officially, but multiple media reports have pegged it to be worth $48.5 million. When broken down, the amount per year will ensure Bryant remains the highest-paid player in the league, even when you consider that this is already a pay cut from his current $30 million salary. He also gets to keep certain quirks from his old contract, like his no-trade clause, for instance.
If he completes the extension, Kobe will have spent twenty years wearing the purple and gold, which would be the longest that one player would have spent with one team.
Meanwhile, the comeback trail continues, as he gets closer and closer to being able to play, although he will not play in Washington to open their road trip.
